Role Purpose
To design and implement a secure, governed data lake capability to support a Defence / Government PMO, enabling portfolio-level visibility, assurance, and executive decision support across complex programmes. This is a hands-on delivery role, focused on rapid mobilisation and tangible outcomes within a constrained timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of the PMO data lake setup
- Work closely with PMO leadership, delivery teams, and technical stakeholders
- Ensure alignment with Defence / Government assurance expectations
- Balance speed of delivery with security and governance
- Focus on practical PMO outcomes rather than theoretical architecture
Experience Required
- Active SC clearance (mandatory)
- Strong experience supporting large-scale Defence or Government programmes
- Deep understanding of portfolio reporting and controls
- Cost, schedule, and risk management
- Governance and assurance processes
- Exposure to IPA, NAO, or formal assurance reviews
- Experience working in hybrid delivery models
- Prior PMO transformation or modernisation work
