This role sits within a major multi-year transformation programme modernising how the Met Office designs, builds and delivers operational and customer-facing services.
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in enabling programme delivery—supporting governance, reporting, planning and coordination across a complex, high-impact change environment. This is a role within a high-profile transformation programme, requiring strong governance, coordination and stakeholder capability within a structured programme environment.
Key Responsibilities- Planning & Scheduling: Maintain programme and project plans, ensuring accurate tracking within management systems.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Manage programme controls and produce performance reports; lead monthly reporting cycles.
- Governance & Secretariat: Ensure compliance with programme standards, act as link between Programme and Portfolio Office.
- Programme Support: Prepare board-level artefacts and ensure consistency across programme documentation.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage internal/external stakeholders and support communications and reporting.
- Financial Control: Monitor spend, support forecasting, budgets and business case inputs.
- Risk & Issue Management: Maintain RIDAC logs and support escalation and resolution of risks/issues.
- APM or PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent experience).
- Strong experience in formal Programme / Project environments.
- Proven experience across: Planning, reporting, governance, risk, finance, change control.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience managing risks, issues and dependencies.
- Strong organisational and workload prioritisation capability.
- Proficiency in: MS Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, diary management.
- Experience with: ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), PowerBI, MS Project.
- Knowledge of: Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
