We’re looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to join a major, high-profile national digital transformation programme. This is a hands-on delivery role taking ownership across approximately 4–5 established technical workstreams. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to maintain delivery momentum, manage dependencies, remove blockers and ensure realistic commitments are made and delivered.
The role
- Leading Agile delivery across multiple technical teams and workstreams
- Managing complex delivery plans, sprint objectives, milestones, RAID and dependencies
- Coordinating technical projects where APIs and systems integration are core to delivery
- Working closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, engineers, testers and architects
- Supporting Programme Increment (PI) planning within a loosely implemented SAFe environment
- Identifying and resolving cross-team dependencies and delivery risks
- Providing clear reporting on progress, blockers, milestones and delivery confidence
- Maintaining accurate delivery plans, metrics and team artefacts within Azure DevOps
- Challenging unrealistic commitments and helping teams establish achievable priorities
- Supporting the transition of completed digital services into live operations
- Driving continuous improvement across multidisciplinary teams
What we’re looking for
- Strong evidence of delivering complex Agile digital/software programmes at Delivery Manager / Delivery Lead level
- Managing several technical projects or workstreams simultaneously
- Delivery involving API integration and complex systems dependencies
- Strong planning, RAID, dependency and stakeholder management
- Practical experience of SAFe or another scaled Agile environment
- Using Azure DevOps for delivery management, planning and reporting
- Influencing senior stakeholders, Product Owners and technical specialists
- Taking a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach rather than rigid adherence to Agile methodology
Highly desirable
- Previous experience delivering technology programmes within UK policing or law enforcement, particularly the Metropolitan Police, would be highly desirable.
- Experience within wider government, defence, justice or other highly regulated environments will also be relevant.
Due to the urgency of the requirement, you must:
- Hold current SC clearance OR NPPV3 clearance
- Be able to work onsite in Piccadilly, London, 3 days per week
- Be available to start at short notice
This is an opportunity to take a significant delivery role within a complex national digital programme, with an initial six-month contract and strong likelihood of extension.
