This is a senior, high-profile appointment with extensive exposure to executive leadership, the Partnership Board, and key decision-makers across the firm. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the firm’s governance framework, supporting Board and Committee activity, overseeing partnership matters, and ensuring compliance with complex partnership and regulatory obligations. This is far more than a traditional secretariat role — the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence governance processes, drive continuous improvement, and contribute strategically within a sophisticated partnership environment.
The Role
- Acting as Partnership Secretary to the Partnership Board and associated Committees
- Managing Board and Committee governance processes including agendas, minutes, actions, and papers
- Supporting partnership matters including partner admissions, retirements, elections, and deed-related governance
- Ensuring compliance with LLP and regulatory obligations
- Managing company filings and governance records
- Maintaining governance documentation, policies, and committee terms of reference
- Supporting governance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business
- Working closely with the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and executive leadership team
About You
We are seeking an experienced governance professional who combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder management capability. You are likely to bring:
- Significant company secretarial / governance experience within a law firm partnership or LLP environment
- Strong understanding of LLP governance and partnership structures
- Experience supporting Boards and senior Committees
- Excellent minute-taking and governance administration skills
- Confidence operating with senior stakeholders and executive leadership
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High levels of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
- A collaborative, service-led approach
- The confidence to challenge constructively and identify opportunities for improvement
