The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Benefits Manager (PPM-3) to support a major MOD programme, responsible for proactively identifying, quantifying, and tracking the realisation of benefits used to justify investment.
You will ensure a fit-for-purpose benefits measurement and realisation approach, providing assurance that benefits identified in the business case can be achieved and delivered through to realisation.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Management Leadership
- Provide visible and effective leadership across benefits management activities
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure business case benefits are achieved
- Apply best practice benefits management standards, MOD tools, and processes
- Build strong relationships with key MOD stakeholders
Benefits Profiles & Baselines
- Develop robust benefits profiles supporting the Category Management delivery team
- Establish baselines and calculation methods for:
- Validate dependencies and secure sign-off of benefits handshakes
- Own and maintain the Category Management Benefits Realisation Plan
- Manage change control and assess impacts to benefits
- Identify risks to benefits delivery and propose mitigations
Tracking, Reporting & Governance
- Coordinate tracking and reporting of benefits across the MOD benefits maturity lifecycle (ML0âML5)
- Ensure accurate reporting into governance forums and key stakeholders
- Provide benefits assurance and visibility through to realisation
Benefits Mapping & Workshops
- Facilitate workshops to identify, validate and map benefits
- Ensure alignment of benefits across stakeholders and delivery activity
- Circulate benefit profiles for agreement and formal approval
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with stakeholders and the wider benefits community to build a learning culture
- Ensure benefits are clearly identified, understood, owned, and maximised
- Brief stakeholders ahead of benefits reviews
- Work closely with the Category Management Head of Category Strategy / Portfolio Office to improve best practice
- Extensive Benefits Management experience, ideally within a large multinational and/or transformation environment
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative delivery approach
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
- Proven ability to solve problems across organisational boundaries using sound judgement
- Experience working within a PMO / P3MO / Portfolio environment
- Previous MOD / Defence experience (highly advantageous)
Qualifications
Required:
- APMG Benefits Management Practitioner (or equivalent)
Security Requirements
- Candidates must be able to start with BPSS
- Organisation will look to progress SC clearance during engagement or those with a current and active SC clearance would be desirable
