Azure Solutions Architect Reading (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) SC Clearance Required £550 per day | Outside IR35 Our client is supporting a major Defence modernisation programme and is expanding its specialist Architecture team to meet growing delivery demand in Reading.
They are looking for an experienced Azure Solutions Architect to join a complex, high-assurance programme delivering secure cloud-based solutions within a highly regulated environment.
This is an opportunity to work on a long-term programme where you will play a key role in shaping solution designs, providing technical leadership, and ensuring solutions align with business, security and operational requirements.
The Role As an Azure Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and assuring secure, scalable cloud solutions across a range of projects.
Working closely with technical teams, stakeholders and wider architecture functions, you will translate business requirements into practical solution designs while ensuring architectural consistency throughout delivery.
You will contribute to technical decision-making, support design governance, and help ensure solutions are secure, resilient and fit for purpose within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities Design end-to-end solution architectures for cloud-based services and platforms.
Produce and maintain high-level solution designs and supporting architectural documentation.
Work closely with engineering, infrastructure and project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Translate business and technical requirements into practical, scalable solution designs.
Ensure solutions align with architectural standards, security requirements and governance processes.
Provide technical guidance and support during design reviews and implementation.
Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.
Contribute to architecture governance and promote best practice across delivery teams.
Experience Required Previous experience working as a Solution Architect within Azure cloud environments.
Strong understanding of solution architecture principles and cloud-based design.
Experience designing secure, scalable and resilient enterprise solutions.
Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience producing architecture documentation and presenting design decisions.
Good understanding of security considerations within solution architecture.
Experience working within structured delivery environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Active SC Clearance is essential.
