Contract Opportunity: Application Developer – SC Cleared
Hybrid: 3 days on-site (London SW1A), 2 days remote

We’re hiring a Developer / Platform Engineer with active SC clearance to help deliver and maintain scalable, secure, and flexible communication platforms for a critical national programme. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of real-time collaboration, containerisation, and infrastructure automation, supporting platforms such as Rocket.Chat, Jitsi, and open-source cloud-native tooling.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deploy containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Customise and manage Rocket.Chat, Jitsi, and other open-source collaboration platforms
- Build scalable, secure deployment architectures for real-time communication
- Automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD
- Create custom integrations, plugins, bots, and SSO/LDAP connectors
- Harden, secure, and monitor platforms with TLS, OAuth2, RBAC, and Zero Trust principles
- Optimise performance and scalability across cloud and on-prem environments
- Troubleshoot and support complex platform deployments
- Collaborate with DevOps, AppSec, and engineering teams
- Document everything from architecture and configuration to custom builds
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker & Kubernetes in live production environments
- Deployment/customisation of Rocket.Chat and/or Jitsi Meet (essential)
- Scripting/programming skills – JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or Bash
- Experience with Linux systems, network configuration, and firewalls
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitOps, ArgoCD, Helm)
- Understanding of WebRTC, STUN/TURN, and other real-time communication protocols
- Monitoring & logging experience – Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Loki
- Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis and secure back-end infrastructure
- Exposure to Zero Trust environments, secure enclaves, and hybrid deployment models
