We are looking for an SC Cleared Storage & Backup Engineer to join an operational infrastructure team supporting enterprise backup and storage services.
This is a hands-on BAU role covering backup operations, storage management, incident resolution and ongoing service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the operational Storage & Backup team.
- Perform daily BAU checks and manual backup refreshes.
- Manage and support enterprise backup environments.
- Carry out storage management activities, including Robocopy.
- Maintain directory structures and Distributed File System, DFS, environments.
- Support storage and backup requirements across ongoing digital projects.
- Manage and resolve ServiceNow and Azure DevOps, ADO, tickets.
- Respond to service failures and operational incidents.
- Support wider delivery activities where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve services and introduce automation.
Essential Experience
- Strong experience working within operational IT support environments.
- Hands-on experience within the storage and backup domain.
- Experience supporting business-critical backup and storage services.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.
- Experience working with operational ticketing and support processes.
- Active SC Clearance.
Technical Skills
Operational experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- Dell EMC Avamar
- Veritas NetBackup
- IBM Storage Protect / Storage Protect Plus
- Enterprise storage management
- Robocopy
- DFS
- ServiceNow
- Azure DevOps
Additional Information
The role is predominantly remote, with an expectation to attend the Edinburgh site approximately 1 to 2 days per week.
Candidates must already hold active SC Clearance.
