SQL Engineer Location – Central Northampton Salary up to £55 000 Hybrid working – Circa 1/2 days a week in the Northampton office We are currently looking for a Mid or Senior SQL Developer/SQL Engineer with experience in SSIS/SSRS. This role has opened as part of our expansion following a successful 2024. You will be joining a small Data team based in our Northampton office. This is an exciting opportunity for an SQL professional who enjoys taking ownership of data-driven initiatives—someone who can engage with users and stakeholders, analyse needs or challenges, and create effective solutions. Your primary responsibility will be hands-on SQL development, but you will also be encouraged to suggest and implement new ideas, solutions, and reports. We are seeking a proactive and creative individual who can generate new ideas for transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business success. Role Overview As a SQL Engineer reporting to the Director of IT, you\’ll be part of a dynamic Data team that values innovation and continuous improvement. You\’ll collaborate with stakeholders, translating data into meaningful insights and reports while working on both existing and new system developments. Essential Skills & Experience * Strong SQL experience and understanding of data structures and model design. * Experience with SSIS for ETL processes. * SSRS for report development. * Ability to create self-service data solutions for business users. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Desired (But Not Essential) * Experience with Power BI. * Familiarity with ETL tools beyond SSIS. * Knowledge of Excel, VBA, or a passion for continuous learning * Interest in or willingness to learn Microsoft PowerApps—a great opportunity to gain experience in this area. * Any exposure to Python and/or .NET.
