Our client operates within professional services and has an exciting opportunity for a Senior People Advisor to partner with key stakeholders, to understand goals and support in the delivery of those goals. You will provide transactional and day to day operational HR support to the business and support the Head of People with projects and new initiatives. This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic to make a difference with ideas around wellbeing, reward and recognition, employee engagement to become an employer of choice. There is an opportunity to progress to People Manager and ultimately Head of People. It will be full time in the office to start with, but can then be flexible after probation, subject to performance, with 1 or 2 days at home. You must be able and willing to travel to the different regional offices each week.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a robust recruitment process to include the best channels for finding talent, creative job adverts, selection strategies, interview questions, interviewing, assessments through to and including offer of employment, issuing contracts.
  • Build an onboarding and induction process – manage new starter process – references, benefits, right to work, equipment etc.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance HR processes and overall business performance.
  • Explore ways of measuring and improving employee engagement, including creating and running pulse surveys.
  • Design and implement new employee handbook.
  • Work with Head of People to develop and improve on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and creation of HR initiatives and projects and help drive their implementation across the firm.
  • Implement a mentoring programme across the firm.
  • Provide expert HR support and guidance on a wide range of topics such as employee relations, performance management, absence management, flexible working, family leave, wellbeing.
  • Support, coach and upskill line managers on all HR matters relating to their teams.
  • Managing employee relations cases as the first point of contact.
  • Day to day management of benefits, annual review and renewal of benefits.
  • Review and advise on compensation and benefits in line with external peer market data.
  • Support Head of People with salary review process and other reward recognition schemes.
  • Support, influence and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle including onboarding, performance management, career development and offboarding.
  • Review well-being initiatives to ensure that well-being of employees is put first and the appropriate support in place.
  • Support, coach and engage with wellbeing champions to implement a wellbeing programme across the firm.
  • Support the Senior Management team with change management processes i.e. restructures, office moves, etc.
  • Partner with Marketing to plan and organise employee engagement calendar and promote activities on social media.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop ways to build employer brand.
  • Participate in the strategic planning process supporting HR planning activities such as talent attraction, development and retention.
  • Complete training needs analysis for employees, manage training plan, booking of training and keep appropriate records with actions.
  • Approval of any payroll changes in relation to new joiners, leavers, salary changes etc -Working with management and senior management team to ensure everyone in the wider team have everything they need to do their jobs.
  • Review and update policies and procedures where applicable and conduct HR compliance checks.
  • Ensuring the People department and the firm remain legally compliant with all employment legislation, Lexcel and CQS.
  • Pushing the boundaries of what good HR practice looks like by creating innovative solutions and become an employer of choice.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties from time to time allocated to the role.

Requirements:

  • You will need to be confident, personable, able and happy to work on your own initiative, with support from Head of People.
  • You will need good all round HR experience.
  • Recruitment will feature heavily, so you need to be happy with recruitment right through to onboarding.
  • Currently you need to be self-sufficient in terms of administration.
