Our client is seeking a Legal Secretary to join their team. Full or part‑time positions will be considered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Word processing tasks required by Fee Earner accurately and at a speed appropriate to standards.
  • Answer incoming calls quickly and handle them following the firm's procedures.
  • Assist fee‑earner in diary management, including reminder system maintenance and daily priorities.
  • Maintain a constantly updated summary of the fee‑earner’s current cases and respond to simple client queries.
  • Control filing and record systems for the fee‑earner.
  • Manage flow of mail, faxes and other messages.
  • Locate and extract information as required.
  • Copy, collate, bind documents and associated work.
  • Contact clients and potential clients under fee‑earner direction.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • At least two years of legal secretarial experience in private practice.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Proficient in Windows and Word.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Experience dealing with clients.
  • Knowledge and experience of IT skills, especially case management systems.
