Our client has a full-time vacancy for a Credit Controller, reporting to the Treasury and Financial Accountant. The role exists to ensure that the cash flow is received on a timely basis following the issue of a valid sales invoice. This will be achieved by the use of computerised systems and tasking’s generated by either the system or the Credit Controller. The role is working hybrid, with two days per week being office based and three days remote working. You will be working 37 hours per week. This role is offered as a temporary position. The main role is to monitor allocated accounts on the sales ledgers to ensure the prompt collection of monies. This will involve frequent contact by telephone as well as email, letter or fax and court proceedings if necessary. Monitoring will be undertaken by use of the Agresso Finance system and the use of action overviews and workflow to ensure debts are chased on a timely basis. In addition you will: * Establish and maintain good customer relations with account holders at all levels. * Follow up queries raised on invoices from customers, contacting relevant colleagues for information and instructions where necessary. * To advise when any problems arise, specifically with regard to accounts which show signs of delinquency or of becoming a bad debt. * To allocate credit balances and credit notes where necessary. * To produce statements and reminder letters for all allocated customers on a regular basis. * To produce management reporting information on a monthly basis for use in Heads of Department meetings. And to provide a list or accounts requiring provisions or write offs at the end of each Financial Year. * To cover for other Credit Controllers during periods of absence. * To assist both Internal and External Auditors as required. * To assist with the correct allocation of BACS receipts and cash or cheques received against customer accounts and to review receipt items on suspense accounts on a regular basis to identify possible invoice payments. Requirements You must be an excellent communicator and have a desire to build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues. You will also enjoy working as part of a close-knit team, whilst taking responsibility for your allocated accounts. A high level of attention to detail is essential and intermediate skills in Excel (VLOOKUPS and pivot tables) is highly desirable.
