Our client has a vacancy for a National Transport Manager to be responsible for facilitating an efficient and legally compliant logistics solution to satisfy the distribution needs of the Group. The National Transport Manager reports directly to the Procurement Director. Your role will include line management of two regional Transport Managers.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
- To ensure all areas of the transport/logistics functions operate in a smooth, efficient, and cost-effective manner to meet the business needs.
- To manage and take responsibility for the Company's Operator Licences to ensure that:
- all vehicles are operated in accordance with current Road Traffic Regulations;
- all vehicles are maintained as per the Operator licence agreement;
- the Operator licences are kept up to date;
- driver licence checking system is in place ensuring all drivers are legal to drive;
- OCRS scores are maintained to a green standard.

Requirements
- Very strong leadership and a team player.
- CPC holder with the understanding of a Transport Manager's responsibilities.
- Good repute.
- Demonstrable track record in Managing Change.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Good Presentation and negotiation skills.
- Excellent numerical and IT Skills.
- Confidence, tact, and a persuasive manner.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Remains calm and focused under pressure.
