Due to continued growth, our client has a new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their team.
Are you an experienced Legal Cashier, an experienced Accounts Assistant – or are you looking to start your Accounts career having gained the qualifications – just hungry for the chance to get stuck in?
If so, you could be perfect to join this close-knit, friendly accounts team. This role is full time, office based.
What You ll Be Doing
- Assisting with day-to-day accounts and transactions
- Learning to manage client and office accounts in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SRA)
- Supporting the finance team with invoicing, payments, and bank reconciliations
- Helping fee earners with financial queries
- Developing your knowledge of legal accounting systems
- Checking client balances and working with fee earners to clear following completion, ensuring balances are returned promptly;
- Transferring costs and disbursements;
- Liaising with clients by phone to take card payments
What We re Looking For
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- Good organisation skills and reliability
- Willingness to learn legal financial procedures
- Basic experience with Excel
- Experience of bookkeeping software would be an advantage
- A background in finance or legal support is desirable
- Accounts experience – or AAT qualified at some level
- Excellent communication skills
- Motivated, pro-active and highly organised, with good attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Friendly, confident, polite, customer service orientated
