Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join their Finance Department. The firm's Accounts department works as a team in providing an efficient accounting service to all the firm's users. The job holder is responsible for providing efficient support to various areas within the accounts department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the maintenance of the purchase ledger – inputting of PL invoices, managing PL queries.
  • Processing bi-weekly expenses run.
  • Reconciling credit card statements.
  • Reconciliation of partners business mileage and partner current accounts.
  • Nominal payment run - Collating, coding and checking authorisation for nominal payments. Arranging payment by bank transfer or cheque.
  • Direct Debits – allocation of daily direct debits as well as reviewing and resolving unallocated direct debits.
  • Weekly new matters – management of the weekly new matters process, ensuring correctly assigned/allocated.
  • Office of National Statistics Surveys – responsibility for the Monthly Business Survey. As well as supporting the preparation of information for review on all other surveys.
  • Rolling forward of monthly schedules for CFO/HOF (including performance report, management account, consultancy etc).
  • Posting of journals – posting of all csv file and other journals as required during the month.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

Technical Competencies:

  • Good IT skills
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications and Education:

  • At least a grade 4 in English and Maths at GCSE
