Our client has a permanent vacancy for an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy private client team. The team offers a wide range of private client services including wills and trusts, inheritance tax planning, probate, powers of attorney and court of protection. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a small but friendly and busy team.
The Role
- Typing correspondence to clients, other firms of solicitors, accountants etc.
- Typing and completing legal documents including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney etc.
- Keeping an up-to-date diary for the Solicitors and fee-earners.
- Making appointments and organising meetings.
- Answering the telephone, taking messages and dealing with queries.
- Dealing with the post – incoming and outgoing.
- Setting up new files, closing and archiving files and sending for storage.
- Dealing with accounts – typing client’s bills, completing timesheets, organising the raising of payments and expenses.
- Undertaking other admin duties including photocopying, filing etc.
Skills / Experience
- Excellent typing skills.
- Preferred experience of working within a legal environment.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
