Our client has a vacancy for an Accounts Manager to handle a diverse and challenging workload to support the delivery of legal services. Duties will include:

  • Day to day and annual responsibility for the Firm’s accounts.
  • Some aspects of human resources administration.
  • Advice on regulatory compliance including SRA and SARs.
  • Organisation of the Firm’s insurance, accreditation and practicing certificate renewals.
  • Negotiating with third party suppliers, including stationery and IT services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and provide information to the Firm’s accountants for annual SARs audit and year end accounts.
  • VAT returns.
  • Corporate Tax instalments.
  • Payroll.
  • NI/Tax payments due to HMRC.
  • Checking and authorising TTs/BACs from the client account.
  • CQS applications.
  • Annual CQS training courses – ensuring the courses are completed by all relevant staff members.
  • Practicing certificate bulk renewal application.
  • Insurance renewals.
  • SRA applications when required.
  • Tasks to include sickness and holidays.
  • Carrying out DBS checks and ensure they are up to date.
  • Provide first line advice to staff in relation to software/systems.
  • Liaise with IT support company.
