Our client has a vacancy for an Employment Solicitor (2 to 5 years PQE). The ideal candidate should be hard-working, out-going and a good team player. Experience of working in a city or medium/large provincial practice is desirable. You should have a keen interest in employment law and be able to discuss knowledgeably topical employment law issues.
Knowledge Of
- Advising on day-to-day HR and employment law issues
- Drafting employment contracts, policies, and staff handbooks
- Handling and advising Settlement Agreements, Redundancy Matters, and Employment Tribunal claims
- Supporting corporate transactions with employment law input (TUPE, due diligence, etc.)
- Assisting with business development, client training sessions, and marketing initiatives
- Exposure to both claimant and respondent employment work
Key Skills
- Sound legal knowledge, drafting and advisory skills
- Experience of undertaking advocacy in court/chambers/tribunal setting
- Experience of presenting to an audience
- Commercial, practical and financial awareness
- Confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels
- Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills with the ability to develop contacts for the team and the firm
