Job Overview:
An experienced, professional and adaptable Rota Support Nanny / Retainer Nanny is required to join an established childcare team within a fully staffed private household in Knightsbridge.

The family have three children, born February 2015, March 2017 and October 2020, and are seeking a confident, engaging and proactive Nanny who can provide high-quality, age-appropriate care whilst supporting each child's individual needs.

Working as one of three Rota Support / Retainer Nannies, the successful candidate will provide cover for the family's existing Rota Nannies during periods of annual leave and sickness. This is a varied and flexible role requiring the ability to adapt to changing schedules, routines and childcare requirements.

Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD is essential. The Nanny must be confident in maintaining consistent routines, providing appropriate support and working collaboratively with the wider childcare team.

The household is fully staffed, and the position is focused entirely on the children, with no general housekeeping responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing attentive, age-appropriate care for three children of different ages.
  • Supporting the children's individual developmental and additional needs, including ASC and ADHD.
  • Maintaining established routines, boundaries and consistency in the children's daily lives.
  • Planning and organising engaging, stimulating and age-appropriate activities.
  • Providing cover for the existing Rota Nannies during annual leave and sickness.
  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of the children's day-to-day care whilst on duty.
  • Working independently and collaboratively alongside the established childcare team.
  • Undertaking childcare-related administration, forward planning and preparation during school hours and quieter periods.
  • Organising and preparing for evenings, weekends and school holidays.
  • Travelling with the family within Europe and internationally during school holidays.

Ideal Nanny:

  • Substantial professional experience caring for children of similar ages.
  • Proven experience supporting children with ASC and ADHD.
  • Previous experience in a rota or retainer position would be advantageous, although candidates with strong private household experience will also be considered.
  • Warm, engaging, patient and confident, with a calm and understanding approach.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to accommodate changing schedules and routines.
  • Highly organised, proactive and resourceful, with excellent forward-planning skills.
  • An excellent communicator and genuine team player.
  • Professional, discreet and mature in their approach.
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a fully staffed household.
  • Happy to travel within Europe and internationally during school holidays.
  • Comfortable around dogs, as the family have three dogs.
  • A driving licence is not required.

Perks of the Role:

  • Private bedroom and bathroom within the family home or nanny apartment.
  • Salary increase to £75,000 gross per annum following successful completion of probation.
  • Opportunity to work as part of an established and experienced childcare team.
  • International travel during school holidays.
