Job Overview
A warm and friendly professional family based in West London are seeking a professional, qualified, kind, caring and energetic live-in nanny to support the care of their two young children, born December 2023 (girl) and February 2026 (boy). The eldest is a cheerful, sociable and high-energy toddler who attends nursery three mornings per week and enjoys arts, crafts, music and active play. The youngest was born two months prematurely. He has no additional needs apart from his development timeline. The mother is on maternity leave for the next six months and the role will initially focus primarily on the eldest child, before transitioning into care of both children from November. This is a mixture of sole charge and shared care whilst mum is on maternity leave and will become full sole charge. The accommodation is private on the top floor of the house, comprising a large bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The family home is conveniently located in Shepherd’s Bush, close to both Shepherd’s Bush Market and Shepherd’s Bush tube lines.
Responsibilities
- Focusing primarily on the eldest child initially, before taking on care of both children from November on a sole charge basis.
- Supporting the children’s routines, development and day-to-day wellbeing.
- Planning age-appropriate activities, including creative play, arts and crafts, music and outings.
- Preparing healthy meals for the children.
- Keeping the children’s areas clean, tidy and well organised.
- Undertaking the children’s laundry.
- Supporting key developmental stages, including weaning, potty training and age-appropriate milestone progression.
- Travelling with the family to their home in the Isle of Wight for short periods, likely 2 to 4 weeks per year.
- Offering occasional babysitting as required.
Ideal Nanny
- Experienced with children of similar ages with checkable references.
- Ideally holds a recognised childcare qualification.
- Experience of developmental milestones, such as weaning and potty training, and supporting young children’s learning.
- Kind, caring and patient.
- Enthusiastic, cheerful and energetic.
- Proactive and confident taking initiative in all aspects of childcare.
- Tidy, organised and easy to live with.
