Job Title: Weekend Nanny - Friday to Sunday plus 6 additional full weeks per year.

Location: Kensington, London (plus occasional international travel).

Start Date: ASAP.

Salary: £49,000 (+ 6 weeks cover) to £56,000 (+ 10 weeks cover) gross per annum.

Hours: Friday 2pm-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm, plus 6-10 full weeks per year. Primarily live-out, with very occasional live-in weekends.

Job Overview: An experienced, professional and energetic Weekend Nanny is sought for a busy, sporty family based in Kensington, London. The family has five children aged 11, 10, 7, 5 and 1 and is looking for a confident, flexible and proactive nanny who enjoys working as part of a team. The position will primarily involve working Friday to Sunday on a live-out basis, with very occasional weekends when the nanny may be required to live in. In addition to the regular weekend schedule, the nanny will be required to work 6 full weeks per year, potentially increasing to 10 weeks, providing holiday and additional cover when the family are travelling or members of the nanny team are taking annual leave. During the week, the children are supported by a Rota Nanny, who has primary responsibility for the two younger children, alongside a Nanny-Governess who works Monday to Thursday and supports the three older children. At weekends, the Weekend Nanny will work alongside the Rota Nanny, providing additional support with the two younger children, whilst taking responsibility for ensuring the three older children are well cared for and supported in the absence of the Nanny-Governess. The Rota Nanny will retain primary responsibility for the youngest child, aged 1, whilst the eldest child, aged 11, requires relatively minimal support. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the parents, Rota Nanny and wider household staff, ensuring effective communication and a coordinated approach to childcare. The position may also involve international travel with the family, including trips throughout Europe and family ski holidays. There are no pets, and a driver is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive, engaging and age-appropriate care for the children throughout the weekend.
  • Taking primary responsibility for supporting the three older children, aged 11, 10 and 7, in the absence of their weekday Nanny-Governess.
  • Assisting the Rota Nanny with the care of the two younger children, aged 5 and 1, as required.
  • Planning and organising stimulating activities appropriate to the children's individual ages, interests and developmental stages.
  • Supporting the children's weekend routines, sporting activities and family commitments.
  • Working closely with the Rota Nanny to coordinate responsibilities and ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicating effectively with the parents and wider household team.
  • Providing additional full-week childcare cover during family holidays and periods of nanny annual leave.
  • Accompanying the family on international trips, including European holidays and ski holidays, when required.

Ideal Nanny

  • Experienced and confident caring for children across a broad age range, from toddlers through to pre-teens.
  • Previous experience working within a busy family home and alongside other nannies or household staff.
  • Professional, energetic and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in children's activities and development.
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to anticipate the children's needs and manage a busy weekend schedule.
  • An excellent team player who is comfortable sharing responsibilities and communicating closely with colleagues.
  • Flexible and adaptable, particularly regarding additional working weeks, occasional live-in weekends and international travel.
  • Comfortable supporting an active, sporty family and participating in a variety of activities.
  • A confident and capable nanny who can take initiative whilst respecting established family routines.
  • Discreet, reliable and professional in their approach.
  • A driver is preferred.

Perks of the Role

  • Attractive annual salary of £49,000-£56,000 gross, depending on the additional weeks worked.
  • Opportunity for international travel, including European destinations and ski holidays.
  • Opportunity to work collaboratively within an established nanny and household team.
