JOB TITLE: Personal Assistant/Support Worker

JOB REF: JI/CS/05/24

REPORTING TO: Employer/Parents

LOCATION: SUTTON COLDFIELD

RATE OF PAY: £13.50 per hour and £90.00 per night sleep

NATURE OF JOB ROLE:
Working as part of a team to assist with a variety of tasks which will support the employer.
To live an independent personal, social and safe life within his own home. The employer is a 50 year old Downs Syndrome man who has no aggressive behaviour and needs full 24/7 support.

MAIN DUTIES

Personal Duties: Washing, dressing, support and assist with personal hygiene and choice of
appropriate clothing. Support with making safe and appropriate choices. Full control of medication. Full support with finances.

Domestic Duties: Full support with laundry and household duties. Keeping home clean and tidy. Support with preparing food and drinks. Shopping, menu and making healthy meals.

Social Duties: These duties may vary from day to day, to include support at social clubs and events, days out and any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

HOURS OF WORK:
24 hour shifts Monday – Sunday – 2 shifts per week.
09.00 – 23.00 and 07.00 – 09.00 (following morning)
Sleep 23.00 – 07.00
Also to cover holidays/sickness for other PA’s who work on different days.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Up to Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Only applicants who have experience of administering medication and are able to deliver a high level of care will be considered.
Experience of working with clients with onset of Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
The applicant needs to be a driver with the use of the employer’s mobility vehicle, also to meet the Mobility Insurance requirements.
An advanced DBS will be required.
