We are currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to be based at the EENT, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, working as part of a dedicated on-site engineering team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of mechanical systems within a busy healthcare environment, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and site requirements.
Key responsibilities- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment
- Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety and hospital procedures
- Completing accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Liaising with site management, contractors, and other engineering disciplines as required
- Supporting continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and fault finding
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience working within NHS or healthcare facilities
- Knowledge of pressure systems, HVAC, pumps, and associated plant
- Authorised Person or experience working under Permit to Work systems

- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Days: Mon-Fri
- Times: 07:30 am - 15:30 pm. In addition, once fully trained and familiar with the site, there will be a requirement to work late shifts (10:30-18:30) one week in every four.
