We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Compliance Manager to scale our commercial compliance function. Reporting to the Director of Compliance, you’ll own the end‑to‑end process of identifying licence and storage overuse through product telemetry, engaging customers to resolve it, and converting those outcomes into contracted, recognised revenue. Think Netflix‑style licence discipline rather than heavy‑handed enforcement: confident, consistent, and commercially intelligent. This is a role for someone who can hold the contractual line without damaging the relationship.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a telemetry‑driven compliance process, working with data and technical teams to identify usage overages accurately.
- Manage a pipeline of live compliance opportunities from detection through to signed commercial resolution.
- Engage customers confidently and professionally where usage exceeds contract, setting clear expectations while preserving trust.
- Draft precise, client‑ready correspondence that balances contractual clarity with the right commercial tone.
- Negotiate outcomes including licence uplifts, backdated fees and goodwill resolutions within agreed authority.
- Partner with Account Management, Customer Success, Legal and Finance to ensure aligned messaging and clean revenue conversion.
- Handle escalations with credibility, including engagement with customer procurement, legal teams and senior stakeholders.
Skills and Experience:
- You’re commercially sharp, contractually confident and comfortable operating in grey areas.
- You understand SaaS licensing in practice, not just theory, and you’re calm holding a firm position when challenged, without becoming adversarial.
- You’ll bring experience in commercial compliance, SaaS licence management, contract enforcement or a closely related role.
- A strong understanding of SaaS subscription and licensing models.
- A revenue focussed mindset including forecast accuracy, pipeline management and CRM hygiene.
- Experience drafting and negotiating contractual correspondence with customers.
- Confidence interpreting usage data and translating it into commercially sound decisions.
- The ability to manage multiple concurrent cases with clarity and control.
