Overview
In this role you will drive the delivery of advanced mobile features for Ideagen’s platform used by regulated industries. You will work across iOS, Android, or both, contributing hands-on development while mentoring engineers and shaping design decisions. You’ll lead technical migrations, push for AI-assisted development practices, and ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable mobile apps. This position offers clear progression toward Staff or Lead Engineer roles and combines product impact with technical leadership in a hybrid setup from Nottingham.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex mobile features, migrations, and platform improvements (iOS/Android/both)
- Drive high-quality engineering practices: architecture, performance, security, accessibility, maintainable code
- Lead AI-assisted development: agent orchestration, testing, and problem-solving while sharing best practices
- Build and enhance automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes for reliable mobile apps
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and review designs and specifications
- Collaborate across teams to shape mobile standards and influence technical direction
- Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness and platform capabilities, driving solutions end-to-end
Key requirements
- Native mobile development experience (iOS: Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit; Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) or both
- Deep knowledge of modern mobile development practices: architecture patterns, modularisation, DI, asynchronous programming
- Proven track record delivering complex mobile features and migrations; performance, scalability, stability challenges
- Strong understanding of mobile security, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices
- Commitment to clean, maintainable, well-tested code and automated testing frameworks
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering excellence
- Confidence in using AI-assisted development tools and orchestration workflows
