Join the “Other Side” of Structural Engineering! Are you a structural engineer who’s spent one too many late nights fighting Excel sheets and connection calcs? Wondering if there’s life beyond mark‑ups, RFIs, and checking endless GA drawings? Secretly jealous of the people who use cool tools instead of writing tedious calc reports? If yes… it might be time to switch sides.
Why Join the Software Side of Engineering? At IDEA StatiCa, we build the technology that changes how structural engineers work. Instead of chasing deadlines, you’ll help engineers design smarter, faster, and with more confidence — using the world’s most advanced software for steel connection and concrete design. You’re not leaving engineering — you’re evolving it. You’ll still talk bolts, welds, baseplates, reinforcement, detailing… but now you’ll be the expert helping engineers solve problems with state‑of‑the‑art tools instead of spreadsheets and 47 PDF attachments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping engineers apply IDEA StatiCa to real projects (steel & concrete)
- Solving design challenges that involve connections, members, anchoring, and BIM workflows
- Delivering fun and insightful training sessions (yes, we make them fun!)
- Turning real‑life engineering issues into product improvements
- Joining webinars, workshops and tech events where you actually enjoy presenting
- Being part of a team shaping the future of structural engineering
This is engineering meets people skills meets innovation — with no 2 days the same.
What We’re Looking For
- A structural/civil engineering background (degree level)
- 4+ years of practical structural design experience
- Solid understanding of steel connections and/or concrete member design
- Experience with IDEA StatiCa (or similar) is a huge plus
- Someone who enjoys helping others, and can explain complex things simply
- Based in/near London
What You Get
- A front‑row seat in the transformation of the engineering industry
- Work with some of the most talented and respected engineers in the UK & Ireland
- Competitive salary, hybrid work setup, training & development
- Travel to events, workshops and conferences (the enjoyable kind!)
- Grow your career into training, technical consulting, customer success or product expertise
- Finally see engineers smiling during design… because your help made their life easier
