IDEA Society is the only UCL Society focused on emerging economies. We are part of an international network based in London called IDEAS Globally, which provides any globally-minded student the opportunity to become seriously involved with international development. We change lives by building social enterprises in emergent countries throughout the world.

The role involves planning, organising and managing IDEA Society events including:

  • Assisting in planning workshops, competitions, guest talks, hackathons, socials, skill-building sessions and weekly events.
  • Collaborating with committee members (Marketing / Communication officer) to pre-plan events and ensure they run smoothly.
  • Collaborating with guest speakers or society's.
  • Creating "Question of the week" discussions on the society's Discord.
  • Doing admin tasks including budgeting or sourcing materials.

Qualifications

  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Being adaptable, flexible and thinking quick.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Possess decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a creative mindset.
  • Prior event management experience is desired (not essential).

This role is for members of UCL IDEA Soc to get involved.
