We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support individuals and groups of children to enable access to learning and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and provide particular support for identified pupils, in 1:1, group or whole class situations, ensuring their access to learning.
- Assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies, working with the teacher to ensure the provision supports each identified pupil’s learning needs.
- Assist in evaluating identified pupil’s progress through agreed assessment activities.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement, progress and needs.
- Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
- Supervise children at lunchtime.
- Promote good behaviour of students and make sure that pupils engage in the learning activity.
- Use of ICT and other equipment to enable pupils to achieve the objectives set by the teacher.
- Provide First Aid to students (Full First Aid Training will be provided).
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels.
- Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload.
- Training Outcome Support to find teaching assistant positions within the local area.
- Skills required: communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, problem solving skills, creativity, initiative, non judgemental, patience, managing workload, responsible, positive.
- Desired: GCSE English and maths A* to C or 9 to 4, or predicted.
