As Event Sponsorship Sales Manager, you will join a dynamic and collaborative global events sales team responsible for driving commercial growth across IDC’s full portfolio of European events. Reporting to a line manager based in Spain, you will be part of a team of six experienced sales professionals located across Europe. Together, the team sells the entire array of IDC events, including European Xchanges, country‑based conferences, and bespoke Roundtable events and webinars to ICT vendors.
You will be responsible for events sales to a set of large European ICT vendors as well as focus on selling event sponsorships to IDC events across the Nordics, Netherlands and the DACH region, working closely with IDC account management teams to develop strategic, multi‑event partnerships with leading ICT vendors. Our portfolio spans a wide range of technology themes and formats — from intimate executive roundtables to large‑scale conferences.
This is a high‑impact, revenue‑generating role suited to a commercially driven sales leader who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys building long‑term, consultative relationships across diverse European markets.
What You’ll Do- Undertaking direct sales of IDC events portfolio (European Xchanges, scheduled conferences and custom events) to European account base to meet annual quota.
- Collaborating with IDC European account managers to identify events prospects within all assigned accounts and driving business development activity for conference sponsorships, bespoke custom events and the European Xchanges.
- Researching and identifying new opportunities and new prospects to sustain and build healthy pipelines.
- Working closely with the different event managers to align on timing, delivery and scope for events and to input on sales tools and proposals.
- Delivering strategic and bespoke proposals and pitches to senior level contacts, over the phone and face to face as well as identifying opportunities for upsell.
- Arranging and conducting virtual and face to face meetings with key European marketing and event decision makers from ICT vendors, to position multi event solutions and annual campaigns to support their business objectives.
- Attending selected conferences as commercial lead ensuring high level of customer service, delivering of sponsorships and initiating repeat business opportunities.
- Mapping client needs to the most relevant event formats and topics.
- Maintaining accurate CRM updates and tracking in Salesforce.
- Staying informed about technology trends and market developments to support prospecting and targeting.
- Contributing to team meetings with insights and best practices.
- Hunter Mentality: Self-driven, results-oriented, and skilled at pipeline generation and strategic territory management within complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong sales acumen is mandatory, proven experience from events or sponsorship sales is preferred.
- Approximately 5+ years of enterprise sales experience, with a proven track record in business development.
- Fluency in English is required; German, Danish/Dutch or Swedish will be a plus.
- Proven experience in managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting and direct engagement.
- Strong passion for acquiring new logos with a successful track record of onboarding major clients.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills and the ability to work in a remote and global team environment.
