The Technical Consultant – Scientific Informatics serves as the technical authority and solution owner across customer engagements. You will design and deliver end‑to‑end architectures that integrate IDBS platforms into complex life‑sciences ecosystems, ensuring scalability, compliance, and long‑term customer success.
Responsibilities- Own end‑to‑end technical architecture, defining and designing scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that align with GxP requirements and enterprise IT strategy.
- Lead integration and data architecture, designing and governing integrations, API strategies, data pipelines, and governance models to ensure data integrity and enable analytics, AI/ML, and seamless interoperability.
- Drive technical design decisions, balancing configuration versus customization, scalability versus cost, and time‑to‑value, while aligning with cloud strategies, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide hands‑on technical leadership during delivery, guiding teams on complex integrations, resolving technical challenges, mitigating risks, and serving as the escalation point for architectural issues.
- Enable digital transformation by leading customer transition from on‑premises to SaaS‑based architectures, partnering with pre‑sales and delivery teams to ensure successful, scalable outcomes.
- Consulting mindset with strong stakeholder engagement, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- 4–6+ years of enterprise architecture and integration experience, preferably within scientific informatics ecosystems (LIMS, ELN, SDMS, CDS, data platforms).
- Deep knowledge of data architecture, governance, and integrity principles.
- Experience designing SaaS solutions and managing trade‑offs (configuration vs. customization, scalability vs. cost).
- Track record of delivering complex integrations, modernizing legacy systems to SaaS, and driving measurable improvements in workflows and data accessibility.
- Up to 20% domestic and international travel.
- Background in life sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field, with a solid understanding of scientific workflows and regulatory environments.
