A renowned private medical eye clinic on Harley Street (Oxford Street station) is looking to recruit an Ophthalmic Technician to deal with the growing demand. Previous ophthalmic technician experience coming from a private medical setting is required. The role is exciting and involves assisting the scientific research team with research. The Ophthalmic Technician will carry out pre- and post-operative ophthalmic testing for patients, as well as assist with surgical and administrative duties within the nursing team. They will also play a pivotal role in the patient journey and help to coordinate the management plan required for the patient. Ophthalmic Technician responsibilities:
- Clinical Imaging
- Perform a wide range of advanced imaging tests, including:
- Macula and Peripheral OCT (including Ultrawidefield and Navigated OCT)
- OCT Angiography (OCT-A)
- Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF)
- Ultrawidefield Fundus Photography
- Fluorescein Angiography (FFA)
- Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG)
- Adaptive Optics (AO)
- Microperimetry
- Full-Field Stimulus Threshold (FST)
- Electrophysiology tests (e.g., ERG, PERG, mfERG)
- Biometry and Axial Length Measurements
The Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications and Experience:
- Ability to demonstrate initiative.
- Approachable, polite, and flexible with excellent communication skills.
- Ideally, but not necessarily recent experience in an ophthalmic environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
