This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extending to a permanent role. We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join a specialist ophthalmic team. You’ll support patients through their pre- and post-operative care and assist in Laser Refractive, Cataract, and ICL surgeries, ensuring the highest standard of clinical care. This Staff Nurse role pays £38,000 annually plus corporate benefits.

Staff Nurse Key Responsibilities

  • Pre and post operative ophthalmic testing
  • Order, administer and dispensing eye drops
  • Education on how to use drops and meds
  • Assisting the surgeon in surgery in various procedures
  • Ordering of medical supplies
  • Stock takes
  • Following Care Quality Commission standards
  • Correspondence with patients

About You

  • Registered Nurse (NMC pin required) - Diploma or Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in general nursing or community nursing or nursing home or in a hospital across different departments
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confident with computers (Word, Excel, email, databases)
  • Flexible, proactive, and calm under pressure
