The world’s most recognised Christian charity based in London Bridge is looking for a Head of Finance.
This newly created role will provide strategic leadership of the charity’s financial resources.
Reporting to the Director of Core Services, the Head of Finance will lead the finance team, which is responsible for domestic as well as international programmes, consisting of financial compliance risk management, financial management insights, financial services business support, and financial capacity strengthening.
Hybrid working, with at least two days a week in the London Bridge office.
Salary up to £65,000.
This is a permanent position.
Head of Finance Duties Strategic Financial Leadership Planning (in collaboration with the Director of Core Services) Lead and oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, the development of scenario models, and long-term financial sustainability.
Develop and deliver the finance strategy and financial performance objectives to support the charity's long-term sustainability.
Executive Board Partnership Provide high-quality insight, challenge, and assurance to support effective decision-making.
Provide strategic and operational financial support to the Director of Core Services, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Trustees, including the preparation of papers, financial analysis, assurance reporting, and advice on risk and sustainability.
Financial Controls Governance Provide financial stewardship with overall accountability for financial integrity, statutory compliance, internal controls, and the accuracy of financial reporting across the UK and international operations.
Lead the delivery of robust financial governance, effective internal controls, and full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and funder requirements.
People Management Development (with support from the Director of Core Services) Lead and oversee the performance of the teams responsible for financial compliance risk management, financial management insights, financial services business support, and financial capacity strengthening, ensuring clear objectives are established.
Lead positive change by challenging established ways of working, translating strategy into meaningful outcomes, and encouraging collaborative ways of working.
Operational Performance Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting to support organisational growth and effectiveness.
Strengthen financial systems, reporting, and automation to improve operational efficiency.
Head of Finance Requirements Essential Professional finance/accounting qualification (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification leadership experience, ideally within the INGO sector.
Proven experience supporting Boards, Finance Audit Committees, Leadership Teams, and working with auditors and legal advisers.
A strong change leader with the ability to develop and implement a finance strategy in fast-changing environments.
Desirable Experience of international development through a partnership model.
