GE Vernova is seeking a Delivery Manager to support the successful execution of grid software implementation projects within our Electrification Software business, based in Edinburgh, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of advanced software solutions for electricity distribution and grid operations, working closely with project managers, engineering teams, global delivery centres, and customers. You will act as the technical delivery lead on projects—ensuring that scope, schedule, quality, and delivery commitments are met—while contributing to strong customer relationships and long‑term project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the delivery model for assigned software implementation projects and act as the technical delivery lead.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute software deployment, configuration, integration, testing, and handover activities.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to manage scope, risks, dependencies, and change requests.
  • Build and manage effective delivery plans, including work breakdown structures, task allocation, and progress tracking.
  • Coordinate delivery activities across multidisciplinary teams, including solution design, engineering, and global delivery centres.
  • Support customer engagement by providing technical coordination, managing expectations, and meeting delivery commitments.
  • Ensure projects meet agreed schedule, cost, quality, and delivery KPIs (on‑time delivery, cost to complete, effort variance, process compliance, customer satisfaction).
  • Validate delivery readiness through internal gate reviews and milestone checks.
  • Support knowledge transfer and smooth transition into support or maintenance at project completion.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in delivery practices, including Agile and DevOps approaches where applicable.
Essential qualifications
  • Experience delivering or managing the implementation of advanced software solutions, ideally within utilities, energy, grid, or infrastructure environments.
  • Background in a delivery, technical project, systems integration, or implementation role within a software or systems integration organisation.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional and distributed teams.
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps delivery concepts; familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Jira, or Confluence is beneficial.
  • Ability to engage confidently with customers and internal stakeholders at both technical and non‑technical levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
  • Comfortable working in customer‑facing roles and taking accountability for delivery outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required by project needs.
  • Industry experience or exposure to some of the following is advantageous but not mandatory: Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Electrical networks or grid operations, SCADA, DERMS, or Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

  • Exposure to large‑scale, mission‑critical grid software projects.
  • Opportunities to grow in scope and responsibility, with career progression toward Senior Delivery or Technical Leadership roles.
