IDTechEx is recruiting a Senior Sales, Business Development Manager & Account Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle including qualifying leads, cold-calling, learning client objectives, arranging value-add demonstrations, conducting in-person meetings, representing IDTechEx at international events, creating business proposals, and strategically managing accounts. The role is based anywhere in England and involves handling a European territory (which may change from time to time) within our growing research sales division. The role involves selling IDTechEx products and services such as subscriptions, reports, consulting, and marketing services, or other products the company may develop. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, multicultural environment with opportunities to travel and have a direct impact on company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish new business accounts through high-volume daily cold-calling, event prospecting, high activity on social media and contact databases, lead follow-up, monitoring relevant industry news to identify targets, and other outreach methods.
- Retain and grow existing accounts by ensuring needs are met and building trust.
- Establish and develop strategic relationships with C-level executives.
- Manage your designated territory/account sales pipeline and develop strategies to increase revenue; regional scope may change.
- Match client needs to IDTechEx products and services.
- Familiarize yourself with competitors and our differentiators.
- Achieve or overachieve targets.
- Collaborate with IDTechEx teams (including analysts and marketing) and maintain relationships with analysts, clients and industry contacts.
- Support company-wide activities and initiatives.
- Monitor market progress and new trends impacting clients.
- Travel to customer locations to conduct presentations.
- Travel to and represent the company at events.
- Maintain and update the CRM database.
- Provide reporting as required.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' business-to-business sales experience and account management experience.
- Initiative, results-driven, highly self-motivated with the ability to adapt quickly.
- Positive, can-do attitude with sense of urgency and initiative.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven results in sales/business development with year-over-year revenue growth.
- Experience selling products and services (preferably subscriptions, research reports and marketing services; open to other industries).
- Excellent interpersonal and IT skills.
- Ability to travel extensively.
