Psychologists – Cognitive & Adaptive Function Assessments (Autism Service)

Location: Nationwide Opportunities Available

Contract: ASAP – Ongoing

Pay: Β£700 per completed assessment (outside IR35, all-inclusive)

Hours: 08:30 – 18:30 (weekdays, with weekend options)

About the Role

We are seeking HCPC-registered Psychologists to join our autism diagnostic service for children aged 5–11 years across the UK. You will focus on delivering cognitive and adaptive assessments, working within a dedicated MDT that includes paediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, SALTs and OTs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and score cognitive tools (WISC-V, WPPSI-IV)
  • Deliver adaptive functioning assessments (Vineland-3, ABAS-3)
  • Interpret results and contribute to diagnostic formulation within the MDT
  • Provide written reports integrated into the child’s diagnostic outcome (submitted within 6–8 weeks)
  • Participate in family feedback sessions and contribute to the 6-week follow-up call where required

Essential Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Psychologist (Educational/Child)
  • Demonstrated competence with WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, Vineland-3, ABAS-3
  • Recent experience in autism/neurodevelopmental assessments – ADOS
  • Enhanced DBS and up-to-date safeguarding training
