About you
You will share our passion for the fast-paced environment of Warehousing and have experience in designing and delivering high-quality training for operational colleagues. You will have the highest standards when writing and delivering training on standard operating procedures, compliance, and workplace efficiency. A key responsibility of this role will also include delivering training and assessments on Material Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring safe, consistent, and legally compliant use across the site.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and practical operational training sessions, including MHE training for new and existing colleagues.
- Carry out MHE assessments, maintain accurate training records, and ensure certification remains up to date.
- Support new starters through structured onboarding and induction programmes.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and adapt materials to support learning and retention.
- Collaborate with Operations and Health & Safety teams to ensure all training aligns with business standards and legal compliance.
- Work with the operations team to create the Safe Working Practices and Safe Working Procedures across the site to then be trained to the warehouse operatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company processes, health & safety procedures, and industry best practices.
- Conduct refresher sessions and support with upskilling initiatives to meet operational needs.
- Act as a role model for safe behaviours and operational excellence.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational or logistics environment.
- Skilled in training delivery, with the ability to adapt approach for diverse learning styles and experience levels.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to train colleagues of varying skill levels.
- Confident writing clear and structured training materials that support Safe Working Practices and operational procedures.
- Hold a current, relevant MHE Trainer certification or be willing to complete the MHE Trainer certification.
- Confident delivering both classroom-based and on-the-floor practical training.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety practices, particularly relating to MHE and warehouse operations.
- Proficient in using learning management systems and maintaining accurate training records.
- Positive and approachable, with a passion for developing others.
- Highly organised, with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Leads by example in promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
