Senior Ecommerce Operations Specialist

We are looking for a Senior Ecommerce Operations Specialist who will be responsible for providing operational leadership and expertise across the UK network, supporting the Head of Operations in the successful mobilisation of new contracts, warehouse start‑ups, customer implementations, and operational improvement initiatives for our Global Ecommerce Retail client.

You will act as a key operational specialist, providing hypercare support during site launches and customer go‑lives, whilst also offering targeted leadership support to existing operations requiring additional operational focus, performance improvement, or stabilisation.

You will be able to draw upon your significant experience working within an e-commerce, or high‑volume fulfilment environment and you will bring a strong customer focus, operational discipline, continuous improvement mindset, and leadership capability to support the ongoing growth of the business.

  • Act as a trusted partner to the Head of Operations, providing leadership support across the UK network.
  • Support sites through operational challenges, change, start‑ups, and stabilisation periods.
  • Build strong relationships with operational and support teams, leading by example.
  • Customer Implementations & Hypercare
  • Lead operational readiness for new customer implementations and warehouse start‑ups.
  • Provide hypercare support during mobilisation and launch phases.
  • Monitor performance, manage escalations, and support the transition to business‑as‑usual operations.
  • Performance Improvement
  • Identify and deliver improvements in productivity, service, quality, and cost performance.
  • Implement corrective actions and share best practices across the network.
  • Support operational recovery and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Promote standardisation, efficiency, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Support o perational transformation and change programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Support governance meetings and ensure service commitments are delivered. Maintain customer confidence during periods of change and growth.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor operational leaders.
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across supported operations.
  • Maintain operational standards and governance during periods of change.
  • Leadership Responsibilities
  • Support delivery of the UK Operations Strategy.
  • Drive consistency, collaboration, and operational excellence across the network.
  • Support the successful integration of new customers, sites, and operating models.

About You

  • Proven operational leadership experience within e-commerce fulfilment, warehousing, or 3PL environments.
  • Experience supporting start‑ups, customer implementations, operational transformation, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labour management, KPIs, SLAs, and customer service.
  • Experienced in leading large teams and managing stakeholders in fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience of automation, technology‑led operations, and continuous improvement methodologies; Lean or Six Sigma qualifications desirable.
  • Passionate about Health & Safety, colleague development, and operational excellence.
  • Flexible to travel extensively across the UK and stay away from home when required.
