Are you an experienced compliance professional who thrives on driving standards, improving governance, and supporting operational excellence across a growing logistics network?
This role leads operational compliance across our UK warehousing operations, ensuring sites operate in line with legal requirements, customer expectations, company policies, and Group standards.
Working closely with Operations, HR, IT, HSEQ, Commercial, and Customer teams, you'll drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
You'll be a trusted compliance expert, providing assurance, supporting operational leaders, and ensuring robust controls, audits, and governance frameworks are consistently applied across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Governance
- Lead and maintain operational compliance frameworks across the UK network.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, legal obligations, and Group standards.
- Act as the subject matter expert for operational compliance and governance matters.
- Promote ownership and accountability for compliance across all business functions.
- Provide compliance assurance and risk visibility to senior leadership teams.
- Audits & Assurance
- Deliver operational compliance reviews and audit programmes across all sites.
- Monitor adherence to operational procedures, customer requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Track corrective actions and ensure issues are resolved effectively.
- Analyse audit trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain audit readiness across all locations.
- Customer Compliance
- Support customer audits, site visits, and governance reviews.
- Ensure customer compliance requirements are communicated and effectively managed.
- Investigate compliance failures and implement preventative actions.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Support new customer implementations from a compliance perspective.
- Safety, Security & Quality
- Support compliance with Health & Safety, security, and operational risk controls.
- Work closely with HSEQ teams to maintain legal and customer compliance standards.
- Promote high standards of operational discipline, quality, and housekeeping.
- Support investigations where compliance factors are identified.
- Drive a safe and compliant working environment across the business.
- Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
- Identify operational compliance risks and support mitigation plans.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, reviews, and performance analysis.
- Support business continuity, resilience, and governance activities.
- Promote best practice and consistency across all sites.
- Use data and compliance insights to improve operational performance.
- Training & Performance Reporting
- Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes.
- Coach managers and operational teams on compliance responsibilities.
- Develop compliance dashboards and performance metrics.
- Produce regular compliance reports for Operational Leadership and Executive teams.
- Monitor KPI performance and recommend improvement actions.
About you
- Significant experience in operational compliance, auditing, governance, quality, HSEQ, or risk management within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and customer compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting audits and managing corrective action programmes.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk management, and governance processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to challenge and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
- Lead Auditor, IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar qualifications would be advantageous.
- Experience within a multi-site 3PL operation and knowledge of ISO standards is desirable.
