About the role: We’re looking for a PM Shift Manager to help drive our success. We need someone who’s ready to take charge, lead by example, and support their team while also fostering their own personal growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads effective people management process adherence, and continuously develops the team through on‑going coaching and feedback.
  • Lead the team, carrying out daily reviews of workload activity, stock volume and demand within your shift/team.
  • Identifies and nurtures talent within the team to drive a succession pipeline for the future.
  • Accountable to recruiting to agreed headcount, through both permanent and temporary resources where appropriate to react to labour turnover.
  • Create a customer‑centric culture across the operation by engaging and inspiring their team.
  • Respond to customer demands and in‑day fluctuation in volume, leading the team to deliver in a changing environment.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and customers, ensuring a professional flow of information is in play.
  • Accountable for stock inventory and stock maintenance, with follow‑up actions if required.
  • Delivers a consistent performance against the site’s KPIs.
  • Operates within legislation, policy and process in all matters relating to safety, health and environment and ensures risks are minimised.
  • Actively support business transformation, implementing change at pace.
  • Support the overall planning for peak activity within the specific area of the operation.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure there is adequate cover for the operation.
  • Deliver effective and meaningful shift briefs and regular briefs to your teams, ensuring clear communication channels of relevant and key information.
  • Manage and develop the team to deliver key outputs.
  • Actively champion wellbeing within the team.
  • Engage and inspire colleagues, measured through employee surveys.
  • Be prepared, if necessary, to step up to cover peers or line manager for any periods of absence.

You will have previous experience of leading other managers although this is not essential. Ideally you have completed at least one of the ID Logistics Leadership training modules. Previous experience working within a warehouse/logistics operation. Proven experience working to drive performance and thrive in a performance and results‑oriented environment. Be able to demonstrate how you have a people‑first leadership style, always working to engage and motivate your team to get the maximum output and performance. Be agile, able to respond to changes and support new initiatives. You will be a strong communicator, able to work with and influence where necessary your colleagues, peers, managers and other key stakeholders. You are a key driver and champion of change and continuous improvement.
