Area Manager
To support us as our business continues to grow, we have an opportunity for an Area Manager to join our operation at our site in Northampton. In this key role, youll oversee day-to-day operations of an Area of the Warehouse Operation, drive performance, and inspire a talented team to achieve our long-term goals. About you
You are a Manager who can bridge the gap between the hands on day to day management and the strategic leadership. You will be driven to take full leadership of an area within the operation and work very closely with the Operations Manager along with other key members of the operational team to deliver results in line with customer and the company SLAs and KPIs. Your leadership approach promotes an inclusive culture, leading to high levels of leadership trust.
Key responsibilities:
Area resource planning using forecasts and daily trends to plan site rotas adjusting resource to meet customer demand.
Work collaboratively with other Area Managers across the wider operation to share knowledge and best practice
Responsible for tracking key performance indicators around accuracy and productivity, sharing trends and outputs with the Operations Manager
Understand the SLAs / KPIs for the Area and how you can positively affect service levels and financial performance
Oversee inventory management of consumables for designated area, liaising closely with the purchasing team
Support inventory control management of customer stock
Support CID (ID standards) accreditation through SIM, 5S and regular audits are carried out and that any exceptions are remedied in a timely manner
Ensure your team is organised effectively to meet customer requirements, ensuring robust plans in place to manage volumes
Lead, inspire, engage and develop a diverse team of colleagues, making ID Logistics a place where colleagues love to work.

Coach and develop leadership skills within the team, proactively identifying future talent and building robust succession plans
Actively contribute within the direct and broader operational leadership team and provide subject matter expertise where required
Look for and embrace opportunities for continuous improvement and operational development, taking recommendations from the Shift / Team Managers, and seeing them through to fruition with a focus on costs and value add
Build key stakeholder relationships across the site
Deliver effective and meaningful shift briefs and regular briefs to your teams, ensuring clear communication channels of relevant and key information
Identify key talent with your area, working with the HR function to create meaningful development plans
Be accountable for Area Health and Safety, ensuring legal compliance at all times, driving a behavioural based H&S culture within your area of accountability
Accountable for the overall management and integrity of stock within the Specific assigned area
Site security, working closely with our Security providers to ensure that operational procedures are adhered to.
Your skills & experience
Ideally you will have at least 2 years experience in a management position where you have lead and supported team members and team leaders / managers
Experience supporting the career development of other leaders / managers
Previous experience working within a warehouse / logistics operation having gained leadership experience across different areas of the warehouse floor`
It is likely you will hold, be currently working towards or be happy to take on studying to a Level 5 Management (or equivalent) qualification
Proven experience working to drive performance and thrive in a performance and results orientated environment
Be able to demonstrate how you have a people first leadership style, always working to engage and motivate your team to get the maximum output and performance
Be agile, able to respond to changes and supporting new initiatives
You will be a strong communicator, able to work with and influence where necessary your colleagues, peers, managers and other key stakeholders
You are a key driver and champion of change and continuous improvement.
Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs and identifying areas for financial improvements within an operational setting
Knowledge and experience of how to optimise resources and reduce operational costs without compromising quality or customer service
Proven ability to implement process improvements and ensure operational decisions are in line with the companys long-term vision and strategy.

This is a full-time on-site position based from Northampton. Whilst this is typically a position working Monday to Friday, we operate 7 days a week between 6am and 10pm. You may be required to be flexible dependant on business needs to amend or extend your working hours.
