Main Purpose
You will be responsible for your own sites, completing inspections in line with Building Regulation compliance and the ICW Technical standards, identifying defects and areas of non-compliance through initial instruction to completion of works. You will also assist in the development, mentoring and supervision of surveyors progressing through the RBI process and scope extensions.
Key Accountabilities
- Advising clients on building regulation and warranty related matters to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, standards and associated legislation.
- Carry out inspections of work during construction to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, standards and associated legislation on a multi-discipline of projects and uploading/inputting site records accordingly.
- Carry out inspections on behalf of other Building Surveyors where the work falls outside their registered classification.
Registered Building Inspector at level 2B and/or D Chartered Membership of relevant professional body (RICS, CABE, CIOB). Experience of plan assessment and inspection of residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments within Building Control is essential. Able to demonstrate a competent understanding whilst having the necessary ability, knowledge, and skill to complete the role successfully. Good communication skills both verbal and written with appropriate interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively manage a varied and busy workload. Able to work with the minimum of supervision, in line with established policies and procedure. Knowledge of environmental issues and relevant standards/legislation. IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programmes.
