In this high-profile role of Security Console Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of premises and people at a prestigious client site. Working as a key member of the security team to deliver the Security and Safety Service, you will carry out a range of duties which includes but is not limited to the following:

  • To effectively monitor CCTV for the prevention of crime and to ensure the Health and Safety of staff and visitors
  • To deal with fire system isolations and reactivations, as directed
  • To efficiently respond to alarms on the access control system and dispatch officers in response to case alarms
  • To accurately maintain the Fire log
  • To dispatch initial first aid response
  • To co-ordinate the distribution of staff during an evacuation
  • To complete Incident reports / Statements as required and to maintain record of events during an incident
  • To complete and maintain the DOB (Control Room log) and ensure this is kept legible
  • To complete the Staff log and the Operations log
  • To report and investigate any acts or omissions that may compromise health & safety immediately to the Supervisor/Duty Manager
  • To log missing, damaged or unserviceable safety equipment
  • Administrative duties as directed by line management, including roster management and hours reports
  • Reviews and implements security and safety policies and standards at the premises
  • Works closely with other officers / management to ensure the most effective and efficient provision of security and safety services
  • Work with Management in reviewing threat assessments and ensure continual development of the risk mitigation/management processes

Additionally, you will be required to support the team by undertaking the following duties: Front of house duties, Conduct site patrols.

The shifts are normally 12 hours duration covering days and nights, Monday - Sunday on a 4 on 4 off pattern. However, as part of a small team you will need to be reliable and flexible to support your colleagues.

Person specification - essential:

  • Hold valid SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licenses
  • Demonstrate previous experience in a supervisory role preferable in a control room environment
  • Hold clear leadership abilities
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Hold excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
  • Hold a willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with both your peer group and the leadership provided by department supervisors and management
  • Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal reports
  • Five years' checkable history and references
  • To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards
