In this high-profile role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of premises and people at a prestigious client site. An experienced Security Officer, with exceptional customer-focus, you will carry out a range of duties including:
- Control access/egress to the site, patrol, and search vehicles and bags.
- Ensure the site boundary is secure by checking that all persons transiting the access point have the right to enter.
- Respond to customer requests and queries.
- Check and challenge ID passes with a professional and friendly approach.
- Deactivate and activate alarms, and unlock and lock buildings, rooms, external barriers and gates to prevent unauthorised personnel or hazards on site.
- Identify and report Health & Safety issues and carry out first aid if necessary.
- Maintain records, including incident reports, using computer and paper-based systems.
- Ensure that the area of responsibility complies with site rules at all times, escalating issues or non-compliances accurately and in line with procedures, and taking responsibility for building security.
- Work collaboratively alongside contractors and other subcontractors to provide a high standard of customer service.
- Ensure evacuation procedures are adhered to, leading actions to ensure muster procedures are followed.
Shifts are normally 12 hours in duration, covering day shift on a pattern of 5 on 3 off. As part of a small team you will need to be reliable and flexible to support your colleagues.
Required qualifications
- Essential:
- SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license.
- Strong customer service skills and experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in security.
- Good IT and administration skills.
- Five years of checkable work history and references.
- Pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standard.
- Desirable qualifications:
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- SIA CCTV (PSS) Licence.
