The main responsibilities are to be familiar with emergency procedures for actions to be taken in the event of fire, bomb threat, flood and plant failure etc. To carry out access control according to the Assignment Instruction and operate in compliance with all Company and client requirements.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Managing access control for buildings and car parks - for employees, visitors and contractors
- Patrolling the buildings, car parks and grounds to deter and detect problems
- Responding to customer requests and queries
- Checking and challenging ID passes with a professional and friendly approach
- De-activating and activating alarms, and unlocking and locking buildings, rooms, external barriers and gates to ensure that no unauthorised personnel or hazards are on site.
- Identifying and reporting Health & Safety issues and carrying out first aid if necessary.
- Maintaining records including incident reports using computer- and paper-based systems
- Present a suitable image to uphold the Clients prestige by always dealing professionally with people.
- Respond to requests for assistance.
- Will be standing behind the barriers visually verifying the authorised identity of staff(s) as they enter the premises.
- Whilst on post will remain vigilant and present a welcoming atmosphere to staff and visitors entering the building.
- To be thoroughly conversant with telephone, alarm, IT systems, firefighting, CCTV and any other systems or equipment used in the course of duty.
- Have a comprehensive working knowledge of assignment instructions complete with all current amendments and temporary additions.
- To detect and prevent any occurrences that may lead to loss by fire, flood, plant failure, theft, vandalism or any other form of crime.
- To detect and prevent situations that may lead to an accident or personal injury and to ensure that any such situation is promptly reported.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Strong customer service skills and experience
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Good IT and administration skills
- Seven years' checkable history and references
- An SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license is essential.
- To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards
- Effective decision making
- Good working knowledge of security and fire systems
- Previous experience of conducting audits and preparing client reports
- Excellent knowledge of GDPR and the use of personal data

- A First Aid at Work qualification
- An SIA CCTV (PSS) Licence
