Location: London Heathrow Airport
Position: Security Officer (Permanent, Full‑Time, 40 hours per week)
Hours: Shift work in rotating patterns (6 on 3 off / 4 on 2 off)
Rate of Pay: £14.80 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out a wide range of security duties including:
- X‑ray screening
- Body and bag searches
- Aircraft searches
- Access control
- Document checks
- Passenger interviews
- Metal detectors
- ETD machines
- Hand‑held tablets and related systems
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5 years of checkable work history
- Full colour vision and hearing meeting security standards
- Physically fit for long periods of standing, walking, bending, and sitting
- Strong communication skills, spoken and written English required
- Professional, punctual, attentive to detail
- Calm under pressure, with a friendly and positive attitude
- Customer service skills
- EU Settlement Letter or Share Code – required for EU passport holders
- Proof of National Insurance Number (NI card, NI letter, P45, P60, recent payslip, or HMRC letter)
- Two proofs of address (Driving licence, utility bill, or bank statement dated within the last 3 months)
- Evidence of Name Change, if applicable (Deed Poll, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate)
- Age 18 or older
Additional Requirements
- Willing to undergo pre‑employment vetting, criminal record checks, counter‑terrorism checks
- Available for full‑time training for the first 3 weeks
- Able to start shifts as early as 4:15 am
- Willing to support operations outside Heathrow when required (by agreement)
