ICTUK are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Converting team. The successful candidate will provide a responsive engineering service to the converting department, ensuring high levels of machine availability, reliability, safety, and quality. Role Responsibilities

  • Equipment Performance & Efficiency: Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) across all lines. Monitor availability, performance, and quality losses and implement corrective actions. Lead initiatives to reduce downtime and optimise line speed. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and utility equipment.
  • Maintenance Strategy, CMMS & SOP Management: Own and optimise the CMMS to ensure accurate asset records, job plans, and maintenance history. Develop, implement, and continuously improve SOPs for all maintenance and engineering activities. Ensure all planned and preventive maintenance activities are planned, standardised through SOPs and executed via CMMS. Drive high Planned Maintenance Percentage (PMP) and minimise reactive work. Maintain asset hierarchy, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and critical spares within CMMS.
  • Work Order Control & SOP Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work orders are raised, prioritised, executed, and closed through CMMS. Enforce strict adherence to SOPs during maintenance activities.
  • Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Ensure correct usage and recording of spare parts in CMMS. Report critical spare shortages and support inventory control.
  • Reliability & Downtime Management: Improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). Use CMMS data and SOP-driven Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring failures. Track equipment reliability and implement corrective actions.
  • Project & Change Management: Support capital projects, upgrades, and process modifications. Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers for machine improvements. Participate in trials for new products, materials, or packaging formats.
  • Management-Directed Tasks & Operational Support: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management in line with business needs. Provide engineering support to other departments (e.g., production, maintenance, quality, logistics) when required. Adapt to changing production priorities and support urgent operational requirements.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of performing PPM activities.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proven engineering experience ideally within an FMCG environment.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Previous tissue converting or relatable paper technology.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

Working hours: This role will be a shift-based position currently working across a mornings/afternoons shift rotation, however as production volumes increase the position will move to a 3 shift rotating pattern.
