Where is the work: On-Site (5 days). This role offers a combination of workshop-based fabrication and site installation work. Experience in TIG welding and pipework is valuable and provides the opportunity to contribute to a variety of practical, hands-on projects within a collaborative team environment.
The purpose of the role is to maximise productivity, enhance the customer experience, and support continuous improvement in operational technical processes.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose system issues during pipework installation and equipment testing.
- Carry out modifications, repairs, and installation adjustments to meet specific customer requirements, both on-site and within the depot.
- Collaborate with hire and service desks, Sales, and Operations teams to build strong communication channels and share relevant customer insights.
- Use advanced software, diagnostic technology, and a range of hand tools, while working from blueprints, isometric drawings, and engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, regional hire and operations managers, senior technicians, and customers to provide updates and support continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of, and experience in, pipefitting, TIG welding, or closely related mechanical fabrication work.
- Practical experience in stainless steel pipework fabrication and installation.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficiency in apps, diagnostic software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and collaborative approach.
- Relevant trade-based or technical certifications are advantageous.
- Gas Safe and F-Gas qualifications are advantageous.
- Flexibility to cover standby and call-out duties on a planned rota, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Full UK driving licence, as a company vehicle will be provided.
