To lead, manage, and support the cleaning team to deliver high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across the site. The Senior Supervisor ensures compliance with service specifications, health & safety regulations, and client expectations while maintaining efficient staffing and operational performance. This is a Temporary position covering sickness and available with immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support cleaning staff / site supervisors on a daily basis
- Allocate duties and manage workloads across all areas
- Conduct inductions, training, and ongoing development of staff
- Promote a positive, professional team culture
- Operational Management
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to agreed standards and schedules
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality audits
- Manage stock levels of cleaning materials, equipment, and consumables
- Ensure correct use and maintenance of cleaning equipment
- Coordinate periodic and deep cleaning programmes
- Staffing & Attendance
- Manage rotas and shift patterns to meet site requirements
- Handle staff absence, arranging cover to maintain service levels
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and COSHH requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are followed
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, or near misses
- Ensure correct use of PPE at all times
- Client & Communication
- Act as a key point of contact for the client on site
- Respond promptly to client requests, feedback, and complaints
- Provide regular updates and reports to management
- Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained
- Administration & Reporting
- Maintain cleaning schedules, checklists, and audit records
- Complete timesheets, reports, and compliance documentation
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a cleaning supervisory or senior role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals
- Understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if required
Qualifications (Desirable)
