We are seeking a dedicated and environmentally conscious individual to join our team as a Litter Picker. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in public areas to promote a safe and welcoming environment for the community. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and possess good communication skills to interact with the public effectively.
Working Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7am-10am, will be required to cover other staff members' holiday or sickness. Rate of pay is £12.21 per hour. This position is to help keep Gallagher Retail Park clean from litter and debris.
Responsibilities- Collect litter and waste from designated areas using appropriate tools and safety equipment.
- Dispose of collected rubbish in authorised waste disposal sites.
- Report any hazardous conditions or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
- Assist with organising community clean-up events when required.
- Engage politely with members of the public, providing information or assistance as needed.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate mobility across various locations.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication.
- Previous experience in customer service or public-facing roles is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact courteously with the public and team members.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift light to moderate loads.
- Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions accurately.
